Media Streaming

ITLAL offers services that allow you to digitize your existing media into formats that can easily be made available for students in your courses. The new campus-wide streaming media service is Ensemble Video. Ensemble is a content management system that allows you to upload audio and video files and manage your own content. Student access to your content can be managed through Blackboard.
Ensemble is replacing the RealMedia streaming service. If you already have media on the RealMedia server, you can request that those files be converted into Ensemble-compatible formats and uploaded to Ensemble Video. Please complete and submit this form for file conversion and upload.
If you have new media to be digitized for upload to Ensemble, please fill out this form and bring it to ITLAL along with the media you need digitized. This form is also available in the ITLAL office. We are able to digitize from DVD, Blu Ray, VHS, mini DV, CD and SD cards.
If you already have Ensemble-ready files (formats include .MP4, .MP3, .MPG, and .AVI), you can upload them directly to Ensemble. Click here for instructions on how to do so. If you need to know how to embed a video from Ensemble into a Blackboard secure playlist, please click here for instructions.
Please note: It is the responsibility of the faculty to ensure that media is used in accordance with the applicable sections of the TeachAct as well as fair use and copyright laws. Please review them before you request any media be digitized or converted.
