The Preparing Future Faculty Program is designed to assist graduate students with developing the skills requisite for good teaching practice, to help prepare graduate students for the job market, and to facilitate their transition to faculty members. This program complements existing departmental professionalization programs that already give us some “best practices” on campus, while at the same time make it possible for students in departments that do not have such programs to prepare for the role of college or university faculty member. The Future Faculty Leadership Council (FFLC) is an inter-departmental graduate student committee that provides education, resources, and guidance to help fellow students develop the skills necessary to secure and succeed in tenure-track faculty positions. The group works closely with the Institute for Teaching, Learning, and Academic Leadership to proactively support students pursuing this goal. The FFLC accepts new members every year, with each serving a two-year term. If you are interested in joining the FFLC, please see the call for applicants below. Applications for the 2017-19 term are due by April 14, 2017.
